An international competition for a highrise complex of hotel, office, and mixed-use residential located in Hanoi, Vietnam, for which our design team needed to redesign the project due to changes in the client's requirements and budget.  We worked on 535 unit plans and community facilities, daycare center and retail on the ground level during Design Development, which required us to research the Vietnamese living culture and prevailing construction style, as well as the appropriate building codes. It was a valuable experience to coordinate with many product vendors in person to pick finish materials that would be appropriate for the region and project. Unfortunately, the client was unable to move forward with the project after Construction Documents.
